Letter From The Pastor

Hey everyone!

Matthew 6:9-13
Some of us are really familiar with these verses and
some of us aren’t. This is The Lord’s Prayer. I met with a brother a few
weeks ago and this came up. Since this meeting, I’ve been reading
through The Lord’s Prayer every day and really evaluating my life. I
specifically want to look at verse 10. In the ESV verse 10 says, “Your
kingdom come, Your will be done”.  Really focus on the second part of that verse: “Your will
be done”.

Are we seeking the Lord in everything we do? Are we living according to His will?
When I’m not living according to His will, it is very noticeable in my attitude, my
patience and really just in everything that I do. I’ve been reading this prayer daily and
when I get to "Your will be done", I have to look at my life and ask "Am I
allowing his will do be done??"

When we are being obedient and following the
Father's will for our lives, I can’t even describe the feeling.
When I’m living my life that is aligned with The Father, there is a
sense of peace that can’t be explained. There is also joy in all that I do.
There is joy as a husband, father, pastor, leader, son, and brother. Why is
there peace and joy? I’m being obedient and following exactly what the
Lord has put on my heart. I have submitted and gave up control that I never
had in the first place. In our church board meeting a great question was asked:
“Are we living lives that align with the will of God”?

I’ve had lots of people ask, “how is the family”? We are all doing so
good! Carly, Vance, Harvey, and Ruthie are all doing great and we are all
enjoying Carly's time off. I want to thank all of you for checking in on us
regularly! Also, thank you to everyone who brought dinner and helped with
the gift card we received for diapers! I’m so thankful to be a part of a great
congregation. Love you, all!!
